Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. It describes conduct that is prohibited on metyping.com. Violations may result in content removal, score invalidation, account restriction, or permanent termination.
1. Do Not Break the Law
- Do not use the Service in violation of any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Do not engage in fraud, identity theft, phishing, or any deceptive practice.
- Do not impersonate any person, organization, or entity in a misleading or harmful way.
- Do not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
2. Do Not Abuse the Platform
- Do not send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) to other users.
- Do not scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service at scale without our prior written permission.
- Do not attempt to attack, overload, disrupt, or degrade the availability or integrity of the Service, including through denial-of-service attacks.
- Do not upload, transmit, or distribute malware, viruses, spyware, or any other malicious code.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or any connected systems.
- Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
3. Do Not Cheat or Manipulate the System
The integrity of our typing tests and leaderboards depends on honest participation.
- Do not use scripts, bots, macros, auto-clickers, or any automation to generate, submit, or influence test scores.
- Do not falsify, inject, modify, or tamper with score data through any technical means.
- Do not exploit bugs, race conditions, or unintended behavior for competitive advantage. Please report bugs responsibly to contact@tediouslab.com.
- Do not create or operate multiple accounts to manipulate rankings, evade suspensions, or otherwise circumvent our policies.
- Do not engage in any coordinated effort with other users to inflate, deflate, or otherwise distort leaderboard results.
4. Do Not Harm Other Users
- Do not harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or intimidate other users.
- Do not defame, libel, or make false statements about other users or third parties.
- Do not share another person's private information without their consent (doxxing).
- Do not post, transmit, or promote hateful, abusive, obscene, violent, or sexually exploitative content.
- Do not post content that promotes discrimination, incites violence, or targets individuals based on protected characteristics.
5. Do Not Misuse Identity Systems
- Do not use a username, avatar, or profile that impersonates another person, organization, brand, or public figure.
- Do not use misleading usernames designed to confuse users or falsely suggest an official or endorsed account.
- Do not misuse flag or country fields to deceive, harass, or make fraudulent claims.
6. Prohibited Sensitive Uses
Without Tedious Lab's prior explicit written agreement, you may not use the Service for:
- Processing regulated health, medical, or clinical data.
- Storing or handling classified government or defense information.
- Processing out-of-scope payment card data subject to PCI-DSS.
- Biometric identification purposes.
- Educational records requiring a separate legal agreement (e.g., FERPA-covered data).
7. Reporting Violations
If you observe conduct that violates this policy, please report it to us at contact@tediouslab.com. We investigate all credible reports and take appropriate action.
8. Enforcement
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to:
- Remove or hide content, scores, or achievements that violate this policy
- Restrict features or leaderboard visibility for an account
- Temporarily suspend access to the Service
- Permanently terminate an account and ban associated identifiers
- Report conduct to law enforcement where required or appropriate
We are not obligated to provide advance notice before taking enforcement action.
